Event orgainsed by Solidarity for African Women's Rights (SOAWR) Equality Now, FEMNET, the African Women's Development and Communication Network, Forum for African Women Educationalists, CREAW, Kenya Human Rights Commission, and Defenders Coalition.
Starting with an overview of the human rights situation for migrant women, women refugees, IDPs and returnees in Africa, the presenters will discuss the status of sexual rights in the African human rights system in relation to other regional and international human rights frameworks. Panelists and the audience will get an opportunity to discuss the Maputo Protocol and other legal frameworks and their role to the continent. Additionally, they will highlight the efforts made to date and discussed ways to promote the set of strategies developed in furthering #SRHR in Africa at the regional and local levels.
